Greg Egretz Memorial Weekend

A great weekend was had at Seeonee Park at the inaugural Greg Egretz Memorial Hunt weekend. We had alot of members that travelled many hours to attend our meeting, they came from Bundaberg, Gladstone, Mackay, and all round the CQ area. Thank You to all those who attended. Thank You to Anthony for organising this weekend in memory of his father, and everyone else who took part in the organisation as well. It was very enjoyable for both detecting and socialising.

It was a very hot weekend, but that didn’t stop our members from getting out amongst the WW2 relics that were scattered throughout the old camp and Scout grounds. And little did we know a Police Badge from the mid/late 1800s was going to be found. Plenty of other relics were found around the property as well. Too many to mention them all, but includes coins, buckles, silvers, bullets, buttons, spoons and more.

Anthony awarded the winner of the inaugural Greg Egretz Memorial Hunt to Leonie Story, with her Queensland Police Button. Congratulations Leonie.

Another important thing on the agenda for the weekend was the annual AGM, and with all the general business taken care of, we had the election of the clubs office bearers. Congratulations to all those elected and I’m sure all members are looking forward to the year ahead. The following people were elected…

* President – Andrew Mason

* Vice President – Marvin Curnuck

* Secretary – June Birch

* Treasurer – Graham Ward.

Check out the photos guys.
