Mt Larcom Meeting November 2018

Mt Larcom was the best turn out this year, with over 20 people attending for the monthly meeting. The club seems to be thriving at the moment as shown by the numbers attending. We held the official meeting at the Royal Hotel along with a couple of drinks and some lunch. We then headed across to the showgrounds for some detecting. Donnie Pascoe showed us some rock samples and what to look for when detecting for gold, he also buried a few pieces of gold in the ground to show people what to listen for and handed out some detecting advise to some of the members. I have added some pictures to the gallery, hope you enjoy.

August Detecting Day

What a great club detecting day we had, at a great location and awesome detectorists. The day was perfect you couldn’t ask for anything better. Thank you to the members for coming, especially to new member Brendan and new member to be Graham. Some very cool things were found, one of the best finds for the day was Tony Perham’s little bottle dump. Here are a few pictures from the day.

July 2018 Meeting

We had a good little turn out at Lyle Dobbs Park on Saturday. We had a bit of a chat and a detect for an hour or so, we were joined by one of our new member’s Brendan Atfield who was trying out his new Garrett AT Pro. I have added some pics to the Gallery,  thank’s Tony for the pictures.

July Monthly Meeting

Next monthly meeting will be held on Saturday the 21st July at 3pm, the location being “Lyle Albert Dobbs Park” Sunset Drive Norman Gardens, hope to see you all there.

Mt Morgan Meeting…what an Awesome Day!

We had a good little turn out at Mount Morgan in Queensland on Saturday. We visited the Mount Morgan Museum, then had an awesome club metal detecting hunt with a few old relics found.

Leeann found some nice stuff including a Chinese cash coin dated late 1660s, as well as a 1906 King Edward vii penny and a 1941 roo penny.  Tony  found a Queensland railway button and some other relics. Mark found some nice old buttons and Andrew with some good finds as well. It was Dan’s first time bush relic hunting, testing out his new Minelab Equinox 800.

Take a look at the Gallery for some pictures from the day’s events.
